Metering, Billing/CRM Europe 2009 held in Barcelona October 6-8, provided over 2,800
participants from 72 countries with an insight into the main drivers, technology trends and challenges facing the smart metering, customer relation management and billing sector in the coming years.
Please find below some statistics on the growth of the event compared to 2008:
- Number of visitors: 1162 : + 17%
- Number of delegates: 951 : + 13 %
- Size of the exhibition: 2364sqm : + 24 %
- Number of exhibiting companies: 130 : + 13 %
Program highlights included high-level interactive sessions on Smart Energy Communications and Infrastructures, Smart Metering and Climate Change, Effective MDM Strategies, Smart Metering Customer Acceptance and Incentives for Energy Savings.
Furthermore there were three in-depth sessions on Regulation, Communication and Infrastructure and Gas Metering and three pre-conference seminars on DLMS, Security and Privacy and the Smart Metering University.
Both the conference sessions and the exhibition were very well attended and the cocktail receptions sponsored by Alcatel-Lucent and Itron were great opportunities with much networking between vendors, utilities, consultants, academics and industry leaders.
